Frequently Asked Questions

Wondering about insurance, scheduling, services, or how therapy works? You're in the right place. If your question isn’t answered here, feel free to reach out.

  • I was trained from a systemic perspective, which means I view change as fundamentally interpersonal and contextual. We grow, struggle, and heal through relationship—both those we’re born into and those we choose. The therapeutic relationship is no exception: I aim to build a strong connection grounded in authenticity, compassion, and trust.

I take an integrative approach, drawing from a variety of models depending on each client’s needs. These include:

    • Person-centered and experiential therapy

    • Attachment-based models

    • Psychodynamic therapy

    • Narrative and solution focused models

    • Mindfulness and somatic practices

    • Cognitive-behavioral strategies

When working with couples, I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Couples Therapy (Levels 1 and 2), and the Developmental Model.

  • I work with:

    • Adults navigating anxiety, identity, life transitions, or relationship challenges

    • Teens (14+) exploring self-expression, school and social pressures, or family dynamics

    • Couples seeking deeper connection, improved communication, or support through change

    • Families (with teen or adult children) working on boundaries, roles, or better ways to connect

  • Clients often come to therapy without a formal diagnosis—just a sense that something isn’t working. I support people navigating:

    • Anxiety or emotional overwhelm

    • Communication difficulties

    • Grief, loss, or major life transitions

    • Relationship patterns or attachment struggles

    • Parenting challenges

    • Feelings of being “too much” or “not enough”

  • No. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA), I do not prescribe medication. If we determine that medication might support your goals, I can help connect you with a medical provider or psychiatrist.

  • I work with teens ages 14 and up, but not with children under 14. For younger children, I’d be happy to refer you to trusted colleagues who specialize in child therapy.

  • Yes, I am currently accepting new clients for both in-person and telehealth sessions. I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit—schedule yours here.

  • I’m a private-pay provider, which means I don’t currently accept insurance. However, many clients are able to receive partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits.

I can provide a monthly superbill—a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurer. Reimbursement depends on your plan and may be affected by my license type (LMFTA). I recommend checking with your insurance provider in advance.

If your provider requests more than what’s in a superbill, I can offer a summary of treatment—but I don’t provide formal treatment plans or therapy notes.

  • To ensure every client receives appropriate care, I do not treat the following:

    • Schizophrenia or other conditions involving psychosis

    • Personality disorders

    • Substance use disorders

    • Eating disorders

    • Recurrent suicidal ideation or self-injury

    • Court-mandated therapy, legal assessments, or testimony

    • Case management

If any of these issues arise in our work together, I will refer you to a specialist or explore bringing in additional support.
